Legal Basis
Manual Handling training at the awareness level can be completed entirely online under Irish law. The General Application Regulations 2007 require training appropriate to the specific tasks and risks — awareness-level online training satisfies this requirement for the majority of workplaces.
Employers remain responsible for site-specific risk assessments. LiftCert certificates demonstrate that the holder has completed the theoretical component of Manual Handling training and is aware of safe techniques, Irish legislation, and injury prevention.
